Supplies Needed:

  • Old "Well-Loved" Markers

  • Small Portion Cups

  • White Crayon

  • Water

  • Paper

  • Tape

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1:

Make your watercolor. Use small cups with 1 ounce of water in each. Taking the cover off the markers add the tip side down and let sit in the water for at least 15 minutes. You can make custom colors by combining blue and green or red and purple in one cup. 3 markers per cup yields a nice rich paint. If you only have one of each color, consider using less water.

Step 2:

Tape your paper down to the table. We cut small papers so that we could have more than one secret drawing with the same piece of paper.

Step 3:

Make your secret drawing with white crayon. It may help to draw each line twice so the wax from the crayon is thicker. This will make your drawing easier to see.

Step 4:

Color the top of your secret drawing with the watercolor paint.

Step 5:

Once it is dry, carefully remove the tape.
