Fairy Houses: Build a home for the fairies in your garden! How will it stand up? How will you make the roof? Put your thinking cap on as you find things from nature to construct a mini home out of materials collected from spring cleaning in the garden.

The ultimate in affordable camps for the creative child! Our friendly staff of artist educators create a welcoming environment so each child is able to fully engage, build confidence, be creative and learn. Campers age 5 to 14 can choose from a variety of 43 camps in art, music, design, theater and ceramics.

Your Neighborhood: Put on your engineering cap and make your very own cardboard town. Take a walk around your neighborhood. What do you notice about the different styles of houses? Using inspiration from your walk around town and use recycled materials to build a custom toy house. Maybe it is your own house, or maybe it is one straight out of your imagination!

Since 2006, Artists’ Exchange has hosted the One Act Play Festival (OAPF) for the entertainment and enjoyment of the Cranston community. Short plays are submitted from local, regional, and national playwrights and then selected for performance by a panel of directors/actors. This year’s festival will feature a delightful blend of local and national playwrights.

Ocean Prints: Use materials from the recycling bin, or better yet, plastics found on the beach, and add in  natural elements to create an ocean scene that you can use for printmaking to print and re-print your ocean image as many times as you want!

Arts Festival

September 20th

Sunday @ 10am - 4pm

Join Artists' Exchange and Gateways to Change as they close down  Cranston's historic Rolfe Square, between Auburn and Clarence Street for a day of fun! The arts festival offers live music, raffles, a marketplace of local artisans, art activities, installations, contests, food, beer, wine, and much more. This event is pet friendly and admission is free.

Fall Collage: As the seasons change, our outdoor world is beautified with amazing foliage. Using a variety of mediums we will create collages to preserve all the different colors and learn a little bit about why certain plants are certain colors and how they change throughout the season.

Weekly Events 

Thursdays: Art Guild, 2-4pm

 

Are you a high school student who is interested in art and in completing community service hours? Join us for this weekly gathering of artsy teens who help out with arts-based projects around Artists' Exchange such as painting and creating and installing window displays, along with doing occasional fun personal projects. Interested in joining? Email Shannon to sign up! Follows Cranston Public School holiday schedule


Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays: Open Studio, 4-8pm

 

Participants must have previous experience in a clay studio, as no instruction will be offered during this time. Includes use of all Artists' Exchange equipment including pottery wheels, canvas covered tables, extruder and clay tools as well as a bisque fire. Glazing fees charged separately. Supplies can also be purchased separately through Artists' Exchange. Call to sign up: 401.490.9475. $10 per session.
